Choose Your Own Adventure: Writing and Publishing Narratives Using Digital Technology

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

“If you follow the knight into the cave, turn to page 22. . . .” You remember reading Choose Your Own Adventure books from the library as a child. Now it’s time to use game books as a springboard for teaching narrative writing! In this session, teachers will learn to apply choose-your-own-story structure to narrative fiction or nonfiction writing. Participants will plan the first few pages of a story, then learn to link their pages for alternate endings. Discussion time is built in for sharing strategies for teaching writing across the disciplines and incorporating tech in the classroom. Teachers do not need electronic devices to participate.
