Relationship Building with Difficult Students FILLING

Limited Capacity filling up

Trying to make a real connection with difficult students and engage them in learning can drain our energy. We often wonder “Can I do this?” and if so, “Where do I even start?” Through stories, some science, examples, and reflection we will investigate the importance of relationships and why they are the cornerstone for everything we do with students. We will explore evidence-based practices for building relationships with challenging students. Finally, we will discuss some specific strategies to experiment with in the classroom. Participants will leave with ideas to take back and put into practice with all students right away.
