Behavior basics: Helping Kids Act Better. Why do so many of our students have a hard time in the classroom? Challenging behavior affects everyone, not just the child who is pinching, stealing, or blurting out every other minute. We want more than anything to help our students reach their full potential but that can't happen when students are in the office or hallway because of chronic disruptive behavior. Participants in this session will learn the basic principles of behavior and how to make decisions that create positive learning environments for all kids. Learn how to recognize the principles of behavior in individual student behaviors or problem routines in your classroom. Then make decisions that will decrease the development of new problem behaviors to ensure your students learn better ways to meet their needs.
