There is a sentence that I call “teacher magic.” I can take a room full of bored, impatient, and frustrated students and change their attitude with this single sentence. This sentence excites students as they sit up a little and lean forward. This sentence can quiet a room in a matter of seconds. This sentence is a simple one; but a profound one: I have a story to tell.
