Project Abstract:

Students will be given the time, support and resources to learn about and create a plan to address/support their problem/passion. Students will complete a project proposal that will be reviewed by and approved by parent, teacher, and administration. The student proposals will follow a set format and include a project plan. Students will comb through the content standards and decide on a list of the standards which will be addressed. Students will made suggestions on how the project will be shared at the end of the semester. Students will work on creating annotated bibliography listing relevant research and

submit a position paper for final grading towards ELA standards.

Students will follow a timeline in which steps will be checked throughout the semester.

Students will increase their lexile scores throughout the process of this project by reading text, communicating about what they read and applying it to their position/project. (Will use Empower 3000 Level Set Test pre and post)
